Soldier is a high-performance polyester string engineered for players who hit big and expect absolute stability throughout the life of the string. It sits in the same control family as Tour Sniper and Tour M8, yet introduces a new construction that delivers maximum tension maintenance and long playability duration. This was the main design goal, and the novel process behind it represents a major step forward for us. This is a new technology in tennis strings.
The profile is a seven-sided heptagon with sharp edges. Spin production is higher than Sniper and M8, while launch consistency remains predictable. It also carries our signature micro particles on the surface for a mild abrasive effect that enhances grip on the ball without creating excessive string movement.
Power sits in a true medium zone while still feeling very control oriented. It bridges the gap between Sniper and M8 on one side and our more powerful models like Alpha and Tour Mako on the other. The 1.25 gauge plays clean and responsive, durability is strong, and stiffness is similar to Sniper, firm but not harsh. No metals in Soldier. As with all of our strings, comfort remains well within a safe and manageable range.
Soldier performs best when strung at the lower end of a player’s poly range. It holds tension so well that most players will benefit from reducing their usual tension by a few pounds. We recommend minus 3 lb.
