Developed alongside Tour Sniper as its "sister" string. We wanted to engineer a second Tour level string, but with our unique characteristics. We were interested in achieving an even softer feel, add some power, while maintaining ultimate directional control. The results are impressive.

We have gotten incredibly positive feedback from every single player involved in the development and testing of this string. Alpha feels soft and comfortable, and very stable upon hard impact. It is also pentagonal in shape, and easy to string.

Alpha has been our biggest project so far, and it has taken countless hours of our efforts on and off court to make it feel "just right". We believe there aren't others like it, and some people in our team call it our "masterpiece". Available in gold color.

Love this string

I gave this new string a try and very happy I did. I had been playing with Blackwidow and wanted a change. GS Alpha combines the ideal features for my play. I string it at 50 lbs in an Ezone 100. I am getting more spin and control and hitting more confidently as a result. The feel of the GS Alpha is softer than Blackwidow without loosing power and my 54 year old elbow appreciates a little softer impact on the elbow while still hitting crisp solid feeling shots.

Very happy to read this, Sean! Thank you for taking the time to share your impressions. Enjoy!

Just not my cup of tea

This was such a hard string to control. Usually I’m able to control depth super well but if I tried hitting deep whatsoever it just went long. I felt the string was unpredictable. I consider myself a powerful baseliner, relying a lot on consistency and being aggressive on the court. With this string my consistency went through the floor. Super frustrating. One good thing I could say about it is my second serve had insane kick with it, bummer nothing else was good. Finally gave up after my 3rd session hitting with it. First string in a long time I cut out early.

Hey, Porter. I wonder if you strung it too low, considering that Alpha is soft and powerful. Thanks for the feedback!

Alpha Solid Arm Friendly Masterpiece

Grapplesnake Alpha is a great string. I’d agree it’s a masterpiece. Me a 4.0 player formerly a multi-user, playing hybrid the previous 5 months, and now full poly with Alpha. I was looking for soft poly to transition too. Alpha offers great feel, top spin, and control. After the first 2 hours of a normal new string job, I can finally hit out without fear of overhitting. It has helped my ground strokes. I just really like the ball flight, the spin on the ball, and feel. More importantly, it is an arm friendly poly. Durability is pretty good, I get 12 hours before cutting out. I used Alpha in both hybrid set up (Multi/poly, and full bed poly) at 52/50 in both my Dunlop FX 500 Tour and SX 300 Tour. It's my go to string now and in my top 3.

Thank you, Glen! Alpha is a great string and I am happy you like it!

Alpha as hybrid

Been searching for some time now for a cross string to hybrid with my preferred string (Restring Zero) in the mains. I'm a big hitter and hit heavy spin as well. I play with a Head Radical Pro, strung around 50lbs give or take a few lbs based on conditions, and while I absolutely love how a full bed of Restring Zero works, its a bit demanding, just a bit harsh, and I've been trying to find a cross string hybrid to soften it just a touch but not lose any of the character of Zero - that crazy spin and snapback that lasts until the end, and the consistency of playability that lasts up to the break point. After trying many many strings, Alpha works GREAT! Specifically, it maintains consistent play for the full duration and doesn't "fall off" like other poly strings do. And, perhaps most importantly, it stays "slippery" against the mains in a consistent way and doesnt notch and change character early- or ever. In my experience, this is rare. Zero against itself stays consistent, but any other string against Zero has not stayed consistent, until finding Alpha. Really really happy with this combo...lost nothing and gained a little feel and a little softness. Highly recommend this string if you are searching for something similar. The only other combo I've found similar, and its been an exhaustive search, is IsoSpeed V18. Worth noting the V18 also has a thinner guage option, which in my opinion is also desireable for a cross string. Thanks Grapplesnake for making a great string in Alpha!

Thank you very much

Seemed nice

Seemed like a nice string but broke when stringing crosses so I was not able to try it.

Hey, Chris. Obviously not normal, and some contributing factors could have caused this. I will call you today. Thanks!
